ODM in trouble as Kalonzo Musyoka Reads Riot act

Kalonzo Urges Wiper MPs to Reject ODM Cabinet Nominees During Vetting, its getting messy.

The vetting of President William Ruto’s cabinet nominees in parliament is anticipated to be contentious, particularly with the involvement of individuals from the opposition. The Wiper Party, led by Kalonzo Musyoka, has called on its members to reject nominees from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) during the vetting process.

Kalonzo Musyoka’s stance has stirred controversy within the Azimio coalition, as he urged Wiper MPs to oppose the inclusion of ODM members in the cabinet. Musyoka questioned the capacity of the four ODM nominees to serve in a government they had previously criticized for allegedly oppressing Kenyans, suggesting that ODM might be set up for failure.

Musyoka expressed his dissatisfaction with not being consulted as a co-principal in Azimio before the appointments were made. He emphasized that Opiyo Wandayi, the nominee for the Energy docket, also serves as the coalition’s minority leader in the National Assembly, complicating matters further.

Reaffirming his position, Musyoka stated that he has no interest in joining the government as a Cabinet Secretary. Instead, he pledged to continue advocating for justice and a better future alongside Gen Z youths, insisting on the necessity of resolving outstanding issues before confirming any cabinet appointments.
