Patrick Tito has been appointed Acting Deputy Inspector General of Police as investigations intensify into alleged misconduct within the police service.
The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has summoned former DIG Eliud Lagat to record a statement tomorrow.
IPOA Chair Anne Makori affirmed that “there will be no sacred cows” in the ongoing probe. So far, 20 individuals have recorded statements.
Lagat stepped down on June 16 to allow investigations into the death of Albert Ojwang in police custody.
Tito, who took over as PA in March 2025 after serving as Nyanza Regional Commander, has a long history in the service, including past stints as PA to former police chiefs.
