Peter Salasya Slams Raila Odinga, Accuses Him of Deceiving Kenyans

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has launched a scathing attack on ODM leader Raila Odinga, accusing him of lacking a clear political agenda and deceiving Kenyans.

In a fiery statement, Salasya dismissed Raila’s recent reemergence in the political scene, questioning his motives.

“Hauna sera wewe, unakuja kudanganya Wakenya ati umerudi. Umerudi kufanya nini? Si ni wewe Ruto amekudanganya juzi ukasupport Adani, ukasahau Genz waliuliwa wakipigania hii nchi. Sasa unakuja kudanganya Wakenya unawajali? Kwenda huko,” Salasya lashed out.

His remarks come amid renewed political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections. Raila, who had taken a backseat following his AU Commission chairmanship bid, has recently signaled his return to active politics, vowing to champion the interests of Kenyans.

Salasya’s comments reflect growing divisions within the opposition, as some leaders accuse Raila of compromising with President William Ruto’s administration. The mention of Indian billionaire Gautam Adani alludes to Raila’s controversial meeting with the businessman, which critics claim signaled a softening stance toward the Kenya Kwanza government.

As political temperatures rise, Raila’s camp has yet to officially respond to Salasya’s attack. However, his allies maintain that his return is driven by a commitment to serve the people and not personal interests.
