Prof Mutahi Ngunyi Warns Former deputy President Gachagua

Political analyst Prof. Mutahi Ngunyi has warned former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua that he cannot win a political battle against President William Ruto.

In a statement on X, Ngunyi drew parallels with former President Daniel arap Moi’s leadership, noting that when Kikuyus opposed Moi, he ignored them and instead worked with minority communities, ruling for 24 years.

“Dear Gachagua: You will NOT win the war against Ruto. When Kikuyus showed ARROGANCE towards Mzee Moi, he IGNORED them. Then he turned to the MINORITY tribes like Somalis of Eastleigh, and ruled for 24 years! Do you UNDERSTAND what I am saying?” Ngunyi wrote.

His remarks come amid growing tensions within the Kenya Kwanza coalition, with Gachagua reportedly at odds with Ruto over political influence in the Mt. Kenya region.
