The government’s livestock restocking initiative continued today in Mwingi Central Constituency, where 100 vulnerable households each received five goats to help them rebuild after the recent devastating drought.
“The livestock restocking program continued today in Mwingi Central, bringing renewed hope to families who lost their animals during the last drought,” PS Mueke said.
He emphasized that the program is not just about distributing goats, but about offering affected families a new beginning. “We’re not just giving goats, we’re giving families a fresh start,” he told the press.
The distribution was led by the Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) of Mwingi Central Sub-county and supported by local leaders, underlining the collaborative efforts aimed at rebuilding communities and promoting resilience among pastoralist households.
The initiative forms part of a broader national strategy to strengthen food security and economic empowerment in drought-hit regions.
