Raila Odinga to Hold Nationwide Consultations Before Announcing Next Political Move
Embattled ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has announced that he will be embarking on nationwide consultations before making a decision on his next political course. This follows his recent bid for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship, in which he was unsuccessful.
Speaking during celebrations to mark the 20th anniversary of the ODM Party in Busia County, Odinga assured his supporters that their voices would shape his next steps. He emphasized that his decision would align with the party’s objectives and the interests of its supporters.
“We will be engaging with our people across the country before making any political move. This is about the future of our party and the aspirations of millions of Kenyans,” Odinga stated.
His remarks come amid growing speculation about whether he will continue his current cooperation with President William Ruto under the broad-based government arrangement or forge new political alliances.
The ODM Party remains a dominant force in Kenya’s political landscape, and Odinga’s next move is expected to significantly influence the country’s political direction.
As the consultations begin, all eyes will be on the veteran opposition leader to see whether he will maintain his collaboration with the Kenya Kwanza administration or take a different path ahead of the 2027 elections.
