Mwingi North Member of Parliament, Eng. Paul Nzengu, has sparked political debate after claiming that President William Ruto will not deliver any road infrastructure projects in Kitui County, despite persistent lobbying by local leaders.
Speaking during a public function in Mwingi, the outspoken MP dismissed recent efforts by Kitui leaders who visited State House, stating that their attempts to secure development pledges were in vain.
“President Ruto will take Kitui in circles until 2027. There will be no meaningful road development from his government,” Eng. Nzengu told residents.
He further rallied support for Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, expressing confidence that the former Vice President will clinch the presidency in the 2027 General Election.
“Let no one deceive you. Kalonzo will be the next president, and Ruto will go home after just one term,” he declared.
Nzengu’s remarks come amid heightened political activity in Ukambani, where leaders remain divided over cooperation with the Kenya Kwanza government. His comments are likely to intensify the ongoing debate over development, political loyalty, and the region’s future alignment ahead of the 2027 polls.
