Thousands in Wote Welcome National Liberal Party Registration Drive as

In a powerful show of political momentum, thousands of residents in Wote town turned out to welcome the National Liberal Party (NLP) during its voter registration drive held this week. The exercise, led by NLP party leader Augustus Muli Kyalo and senior party officials, has sparked fresh conversations about shifting political allegiances in Makueni County.

Once considered a stronghold of the Wiper Democratic Movement, Wote and surrounding areas are now witnessing a notable political transition. Recent data suggests a steady decline in Wiper’s dominance, as NLP gains traction among local voters.

“The people are ready for fresh leadership and a new political vision. This turnout is a reflection of the hunger for real change,” said Augustus Muli Kyalo during the event.

The rising popularity of Kyalo — often referred to as “Kyalo Muli” by locals — has made him a household name across the region. His charismatic leadership and grassroots engagement have positioned him as a formidable force in Ukambani politics.

Analysts now believe that the National Liberal Party could be emerging as the new political kingpin in Makueni, dislodging long-standing loyalties to Wiper. With ongoing mobilization and growing public enthusiasm, NLP’s surge may well reshape the county’s political future ahead of the 2027 elections.

As the political tide turns, all eyes are on how established parties will respond to NLP’s growing influence in the region.
