A nominated Member of the County Assembly (MCA) affiliated with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has been issued a show-cause letter for allegedly undermining the leadership of Machakos County Assembly Speaker, Anne Kiusya.
The MCA is among a group of ward representatives accused of misconduct and engaging in actions that disrupted the smooth running of assembly proceedings.
This comes in the wake of a recent High Court decision that reinstated nine MCAs who had previously been suspended for between 28 to 36 sittings due to alleged gross misconduct. Speaker Kiusya has since moved to challenge the court’s ruling, defending her leadership and the disciplinary actions taken against the MCAs.
The show-cause letters are part of ongoing efforts to enforce discipline and restore order within the Machakos County Assembly.
