Mwingi West, Kitui County – In what is seen as a significant milestone for the education sector in Mumbuni Location, Mwingi West MP Hon. Charles Nguna officially handed over a new school bus to Mumbuni Secondary School on Friday, January 24, 2025.
The bus, purchased through the Mwingi West National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) under Hon. Nguna’s leadership, is expected to ease transportation challenges for the students and facilitate smoother participation in academic and extracurricular activities across the larger Mumbuni Division.

bought buses , done administration blocks , fenced and gated schools , bought water tanks , done electrification etc

Speaking during the event, Hon. Nguna emphasized his commitment to improving education standards and reducing logistical hurdles for learners in the constituency.
“Today marks a new chapter for Mumbuni Secondary School. This bus will not only enhance students’ transport activities but also strengthen the school’s ability to compete in academic and co-curricular engagements. It is my duty to ensure that development reaches every corner of our constituency,” he remarked.
In addition to the bus handover, Hon. Nguna launched the 2024/2025 Bursary Public Participation exercise in the area. The initiative aims to gather input from the public on the allocation of bursary funds to ensure fairness and transparency in supporting needy students.
The event was attended by local leaders, parents, and students, who praised the MP for his continued dedication to development in the constituency.
Hon. Nguna, popularly known by his slogan “Hapa Kazi Tu,” has continued to garner praise for his transformative projects in Mwingi West.
