Alex Musomba Steps Up Security Support with Torch Distribution in Kaiti

Incoming Kaiti MP Alex Musomba has stepped up his community security efforts after distributing rechargeable torches to village elders and members of the Community Policing Team in Makongo Sub-Location, Kivani Sub-Ward, Kee Ward. The initiative is designed to equip local security actors with practical tools as they patrol and monitor their communities, particularly at night.

Musomba said the initiative reflects his commitment to development, security and empowerment, arguing that safer communities require the active participation of residents alongside security agencies. By supporting village elders and community policing teams, he seeks to strengthen grassroots security structures and improve the ability of residents to respond to emerging security concerns.

The distribution has also been presented as an empowerment initiative for village elders, who play a key role in mobilising communities, resolving local disputes and sharing security information. The rechargeable torches are intended to make their nighttime movements and community surveillance safer and more effective.

Musomba said his approach to leadership is focused on practical interventions that directly touch the lives of ordinary residents, rather than relying solely on political promises. The initiative forms part of his broader message that security, development and community empowerment should go hand in hand in building a stronger Kaiti.

“Together, we light the path to a safer, stronger Kaiti,” Musomba said, as he rallied residents around his vision of a constituency where communities are empowered to actively participate in protecting their neighbourhoods.
