In a recent online mock opinion poll conducted by Ukambani Infortrack Survey to gauge voter preferences ahead of the 2027 parliamentary race in Kitui West Constituency, Fredrick Kimanga emerged as the clear frontrunner with an overwhelming majority.

According to the preliminary poll results, Kimanga garnered 530 votes, representing a commanding 92.17% of the total votes cast. His closest challenger, Hon. Vincent Munyoki, managed 27 votes (4.7%), while former MP Hon. Edith Nyenze secured 9 votes (1.57%).

Other contenders who featured in the mock poll included:

Hon. Ben Mbai – 2 votes

Eng. Vincent Mutua – 2 votes

Hon. Lizy Mawathe – 1 vote

Hon. Ben Muasya – 1 vote

A portion of respondents selected “Not Decided,” though their number was minimal compared to the leading candidates.

However, moments after the preliminary results were shared, there were claims of result manipulation—allegedly aimed at altering the overwhelming lead by Kimanga. Supporters of Kimanga called out the alleged interference, insisting that the initial results reflected the genuine mood on the ground in Kitui West.

The mock poll, though unofficial, has stirred significant conversation in local political circles, signaling Fredrick Kimanga’s growing popularity and possible influence in the 2027 parliamentary race.
