Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Mark Ndingo Joins Governor Malombe in Kitui Executive–Assembly Joint Communiqué After 7-Day Mombasa Retreat

Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Ndingo has joined fellow Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) and the Kitui County Executive in issuing a joint communiqué at the close of a 7-day consultative retreat held at PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa, Mombasa.The retreat, themed “Translating the Kitui Promise to Concrete, Visible and Measurable Results: Communicating Key Milestones and Achievements As We Approach 2027,” brought together Governor Dr. Julius Makau Malombe, his Cabinet, MCAs led by Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya, and other county leaders.Governor Malombe, flanked by his team, announced that his administration has successfully implemented 2,244 projects across all 16 sectors, reaching all 247 villages and 40 wards in the last three years.

Key Milestones Unveiled

  • Agriculture: 658,243 farmers trained, 1,003,136 livestock vaccinated, and 40 Ward-Based SACCOs established with KShs. 13.3 million in grants.
  • Water: 316 sand dams, 132 boreholes rehabilitated, and the Kangu Kangu Water Project (KShs. 432 million) set to benefit 60,000 residents.
  • Health: 311 health facilities operational, expanded ICU and cancer services at Kitui Referral Hospital, and near-full ward-level coverage.
  • Education: 1,398 ECDE classrooms built, 1,688 ECDE teachers employed on permanent terms, and 26 VTCs equipped with ICT labs.
  • Infrastructure: 928 km of roads opened, 77 km graveled, 58 drifts and 119 slabs built, plus 42 boda boda sheds.
  • Urban Development: The Land Information Management System (LIMS) to go live by December 2025 to digitize land transactions.
  • Investment: Kitui County Aggregation and Industrial Park at Kanyonyoo now 46% complete, with an International Investment Conference slated for May 2026.
  • Youth & Sports: County youth policy in progress, 22 playgrounds upgraded, and a Governor’s Cup Football Tournament scheduled for June 2026.
  • Tourism: Launch of the Kitui Tourism Circuit at Nzambani Rock on September 27, 2025, coinciding with World Tourism Day.

Key Resolutions

The leaders resolved to:

  • Prioritize resources on Health, Water, and Roads.
  • Ensure every household is within 2 km of clean water.
  • Revitalize honey processing plants and operationalize 40 dispensaries.
  • Host the Kitui Agricultural Show (Feb 26–28, 2026).
  • Fully automate revenue collection to raise Own Source Revenue to KShs. 1.3 billion by 2026.

Governor Malombe assured Kitui residents that these resolutions will be implemented diligently and invited all citizens to the Mashujaa Day celebrations at Ithookwe Stadium on October 20, 2025, to be presided over by President William Ruto.Hon. Mark Ndingo, who was among the MCA delegation, lauded the retreat’s outcomes, terming them “a solid framework for accelerated service delivery that directly touches the people of Kitui as we move towards 2027.”
