Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe on Tuesday hosted a high-level delegation from Safaricom at his office, in a move aimed at strengthening technological collaboration to enhance county service delivery. The delegation was led by Madam Josephine Mwikali, the Head of Medium Enterprise and County Engagements, who paid a courtesy call and engaged county leadership on innovative digital solutions.
During the meeting, Safaricom presented a range of potential partnerships focused on optimizing county operations through technology. Key areas of discussion included the rollout of unified digital platforms to streamline government services, implementation of robust cybersecurity systems to protect sensitive citizen data, and the adoption of smart solutions such as water metering and fleet management to improve efficiency and accountability in resource use.
Governor Malombe reiterated the County Government of Kitui’s commitment to leveraging partnerships with industry leaders to modernize service delivery and meet the evolving needs of residents. The meeting was also attended by members of the County Executive Committee and ICT technical staff, underscoring the county’s strategic focus on digital transformation as a driver of development.
