KITHUMUONI, MUMONI WARD – Kithumuoni Comprehensive School in Mumoni Ward, Mwingi North witnessed a major milestone as Safaricom PLC Group Chief Risk Officer Nicholas Mulila officially launched and handed over a completed Ksh.42 million M-PESA Foundation education project aimed at transforming learning and community development in the area.
The once depleted learning environment, characterized by aging and inadequate infrastructure, has undergone a remarkable transformation through the support of the M-PESA Foundation. The school now stands as a modern educational institution equipped with improved facilities designed to create a conducive learning environment for students and teachers.
The project has delivered state-of-the-art learning facilities including modern classrooms, fully equipped administration offices, a computer laboratory, and a high-yield borehole that will provide a reliable source of clean water to both the school and the surrounding community. The investment is expected to significantly improve educational standards and enhance the welfare of residents.
Speaking during the launch, Nicholas Mulila emphasized the importance of investing in education as a key pillar for long-term social and economic development. He noted that partnerships between institutions and communities remain crucial in unlocking opportunities and improving livelihoods across rural areas.
