Kitui South Member of Parliament Dr. Rachael Nyamai on Friday, 7th August 2026, led fellow leaders at a Development and Public Engagement Forum held at Mumbuni in Mwingi West Constituency. The event, hosted by Mwingi West MP Hon. Charles Nguna (CNN), brought together residents and leaders from across Kitui County to deliberate on development priorities, public service delivery, and collaboration in advancing the region’s growth.
The forum attracted a high-profile delegation of national and county leaders, underscoring the importance of intergovernmental cooperation in accelerating development. Among those present were Principal Secretary Jonathan Mueke, State House Director of Coordination Boniface Musambi, former Cabinet Secretary Hon. Peninah Malonza, Senator Beth Syengo, Kitui County Assembly Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo, Hon. Banda, Hon. Martha Mati, Hon. John Kisangau (Mbaki Mbaki), and the newly appointed Clerk of the Kitui County Assembly, Harrison Maluki Mawia, whose appointment was recently approved by the County Assembly.
Addressing residents during the forum, Dr. Nyamai reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with leaders across political and administrative levels to ensure the successful implementation of transformative development projects. She emphasized that unity among leaders remains key to improving infrastructure, expanding access to essential public services, creating economic opportunities, and empowering communities throughout Kitui County.
The leaders also engaged residents on key government programmes and listened to public views on development priorities affecting the region. They emphasized the need for continuous public participation in decision-making, noting that meaningful engagement between leaders and citizens is vital in ensuring development projects reflect the needs and aspirations of local communities.
Dr. Nyamai further reiterated her support for the Kenya Kwanza administration’s development agenda, saying her focus remains on delivering tangible benefits to the people of Kitui South while working with colleagues from across the county to promote inclusive growth and sustainable development. She called on residents to continue supporting initiatives aimed at transforming livelihoods and strengthening service delivery across Kitui County.
