Kitui West parliamentary aspirant and Commissioner at the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA), Hon. Benedict Muasya, has emphasized the importance of ensuring public resources directly benefit communities, saying that development begins where resources meet the people.
Speaking during a Development and Welfare Groups Empowerment Forum held in Kivou Ward, Mwingi Central Constituency, Muasya joined other UDA leaders at the event hosted by Mwingi Central MP Hon. Joe Mutambu.
Drawing from his experience at the Commission on Revenue Allocation, Muasya revealed that Kitui County is set to receive KSh 646 million under the Equalization Fund, with KSh 95 million allocated to Mwingi Central Constituency.
He urged residents and local leaders to work together to ensure the funds are invested in projects that address the area’s most pressing needs, including access to essential services and infrastructure.
Muasya stressed that public funds achieve their true purpose only when they improve livelihoods, expand opportunities, and ensure that no community is left behind in the development agenda.
The empowerment forum brought together leaders, community members, and welfare groups to discuss development priorities and strategies for enhancing economic empowerment across the constituency.
