Kitui women representative hopeful Hon. Faith Kithele for 2027 General Election, joined Wiper Party Leader H.E. Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and other senior leaders during the National Prayer Day held at the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) grounds in Kitui Central on Monday, August 10, 2026.
The prayer gathering, organised by the Kitui clergy, brought together political leaders, religious leaders and residents for prayers and reflection on the affairs of the country. The event provided an opportunity for leaders and the public to come together in a spirit of unity, faith and national reflection.
Among the leaders who attended were former Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, former Attorney General Justin Muturi, Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Makau Malombe, Deputy Governor Augustine Wambua Kanani, Kitui Woman Representative Dr. Irene Kasalu, Kitui Central MP Dr. Makali Mulu and Kitui West MP Edith Nyenze, among other leaders.
Kithele’s appearance alongside the region’s political leadership further placed her within the growing political conversations ahead of the 2027 elections. Her supporters have continued to position her as an emerging voice seeking to represent the interests and aspirations of women across Kitui County.
The event also highlighted the increasingly active political environment in Kitui, with leaders from different political formations using public gatherings to engage residents and articulate their visions ahead of the next General Election.
For Kithele, the National Prayer Day offered an opportunity to stand with the people of Kitui and other leaders in a major county event while reaffirming her commitment to public service. Her supporters say she is focused on building a leadership platform centred on representation, empowerment and responsive governance.
With the 2027 General Election drawing closer, political activity across Kitui County is expected to intensify as aspirants position themselves and seek to build grassroots networks. Kithele’s supporters have already adopted the message “Hon. Faith Kithele – Incoming Kitui Women Representative 2027”, signalling her intention to mount a serious bid for the seat.
