The Machakos County Assembly has approved the withdrawal of 50 per cent of the proposed County budget for the Financial Year 2026/2027 from the County Revenue Fund, pending the approval of the full Appropriation Act.
The motion was considered and approved during Tuesday morning’s sitting presided over by County Assembly Speaker Hon. Anne Kiusya. The motion, moved by Mua Ward MCA Hon. Francis Ngunga, authorizes the withdrawal of half of the proposed KSh17.797 billion budget to facilitate essential expenditure by both the County Assembly and the County Executive during the interim period.
The approval is intended to ensure continuity of essential county operations as the Assembly proceeds with consideration and approval of the full Appropriation Act. Speaker Kiusya said she would continue providing leadership to facilitate the orderly conduct of Assembly business as Members discharge their constitutional mandate of legislation, oversight and representation
