Kitui Rural MP aspirant John Kisangau Mbaki has joined UDA leaders and supporters in a major Development and Women’s Empowerment Programme held at Muthale Primary School, attracting more than 5,000 residents.
The forum was hosted by Commissioner Ben Muasya, who is seeking to become the Kitui West Member of Parliament in the 2027 General Election, and was led by Kitui South MP Dr. Rachael Kaki Nyamai, CBS, who heads the UDA brigades in Kitui County.
Addressing the gathering, Kisangau Mbaki urged residents of Kitui West to rally behind Muasya’s parliamentary bid, while also calling for continued support for President William Ruto’s administration.
Mbaki challenged residents to reject opposition politics, arguing that the region should support the government to secure development opportunities and resources for local communities.

He further called on Commissioner Muasya to prioritise the establishment of an Assistant County Commissioner’s office at Muthale, saying the move would bring government services closer to residents of Kitui West and improve access to essential administrative services.
The empowerment programme also benefited women’s groups, which received financial support to strengthen their activities, livelihoods and economic initiatives. Families attending the event also received food assistance to help cushion them against the rising economic and food pressures facing many households.
Organisers said the initiative was aimed at addressing both immediate household needs and the long-term economic aspirations of local communities.
“When we empower women, we strengthen families. When we support families, we strengthen communities; and when communities are strengthened, the future becomes brighter for everyone,” the organisers said.
The event brought together UDA leaders, aspiring candidates, women’s groups and thousands of residents in a show of growing political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Election.
