On Thursday 11th July, 2024 – In anticipation of the Kitui Agricultural Show and Trade Fair slated for the 25th -27th of July 2024, the county CECM for Agriculture and Livestock Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele, alongside Kitui County Commissioner Kipchumba Rutto and the Kitui County Security Team, conducted a thorough inspection of Ithookwe Show Grounds today.
The visit aimed to assess the level of security and overall preparedness for the upcoming event.Dr. Kimwele expressed confidence in the event’s readiness, stating that preparations are 97% complete.
He reassured the public that security arrangements are comprehensive and well-coordinated, further encouraging everyone to attend the agricultural show.”We have ensured that security is well catered for, and I welcome everyone to attend the show,” he said.
He noted that the show will present a great opportunity to learn about new technologies in climate-smart agriculture and innovative farming methods to boost agricultural productivity.
Kitui County Commissioner Kipchumba Rutto emphasized the importance of security, stating it is key to the event’s success.”We have put stringent security measures in place to ensure that the event is a success,” he stated.
In a stern warning to potential troublemakers, Mr. Rutto said anyone who plans to disrupt the event will face the full force of the law.
