Dg Wambua Joins Gov Malombe as NCBA Bank Launches First Branch in Kitui County

NCBA, Kenya’s third-largest bank, has expanded its footprint with the opening of its first branch in Kitui County, a development welcomed by local leadership as a catalyst for economic growth in the region. The official launch was attended by Kitui County Deputy Governor H.E. Wambua Kanani and Governor H.E. Dr. Julius Malombe, EGH, who highlighted the potential impact of this new branch on the local economy.

In his remarks, Deputy Governor Kanani noted the increasing need for financial services in Kitui, fueled by diverse income-generating activities such as online businesses, carbon credit initiatives, and a broadening digital economy. “People are innovating in ways to generate income, and it is essential for banks to adapt accordingly,” Kanani stated, welcoming the NCBA’s proactive response to the changing economic landscape.

Governor Malombe emphasized the importance of making banking services accessible and affordable for Kitui residents. He also assured investors of the county’s dedication to providing a secure, business-friendly environment aimed at attracting further investment and creating job opportunities for the county’s youth.
