Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua joined President William Samoei Ruto and hundreds of Anglican Church of Kenya faithful to witness the consecration and enthronement of Rev. (Major) Samson Mburu Gachathi as the 3rd Bishop of the Diocese of Nyahururu. The event was led by His Grace, the Most Rev. Dr. Jackson Ole Sapit.
Addressing the congregation, Deputy President Gachagua highlighted the significance of the ceremony, describing the call to the Holy Altar as both a privilege and a responsibility to serve God through humanity with absolute humility.
“The consecration of Bishop Gachathi renews the energy of the Church in the region and across the country in evangelisation and development,” Gachagua stated. “I and my spouse, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, congratulate you, Bishop Gachathi, on your consecration and enthronement. As you take on the new challenge of shepherding the flock of the Lord, we will pray for you to succeed.”
The event, which marked a significant milestone for the Anglican community in Nyahururu, was attended by numerous dignitaries and faithful, reflecting the widespread support and enthusiasm for Bishop Gachathi’s new role. His consecration is expected to invigorate the Church’s mission in both spiritual and community development endeavors across the region and the nation.
