Kitui Town – Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli, the National Patron of the Anzauni Clan, has called on President William Ruto to withdraw the controversial Finance Bill 2024/25.
Speaking from his home in Kitui Town, where he hosted the Starehe Boys Old Boys for a banquet and luncheon, Dr. Muli voiced his concerns over the bill, which has sparked significant animosity among Kenyans despite passing its second reading in Parliament with a notable majority of MPs voting in favor.
Dr. Muli emphasized the need for the government to heed the voices of the Kenyan people rather than those of self-serving politicians. He expressed his support for the Gen Z community, urging them to continue advocating for their rights and ensuring their voices are heard by the government and its leaders.
“The President needs to listen to the people of Kenya and prioritize their concerns over the interests of the politicians surrounding him,” Dr. Muli stated. His remarks come amidst growing public discontent and protests against the proposed financial legislation.
The Finance Bill 2024/25 has been a point of contention, with critics arguing that it imposes unfair financial burdens on ordinary citizens. Proponents, however, claim it is necessary for economic growth and stability.
