On Wednesday, 24th July 2024 – Kitui Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Agriculture and Livestock, Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele, conducted a critical preparatory meeting early morning today ahead of the highly anticipated ‘Mother of All Shows’ the 6th edition of the Kitui Agricultural Show and Trade Fair, slated for the 25th-27th of July 2024.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including national and county security teams, the revenue collection team, county security advisor, public health officers, the County Assembly Budget & Appropriations Committee and the County ministry’s staff.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Mbaya emphasized the importance of adhering to set guidelines to ensure the smooth running of the event. He called on all revenue officers and security personnel to ensure efficient operations and effective revenue collection.
Ms. Jackline Kalenga, representing the County Assembly Chair for Budget lauded the county administration for the timely preparations, commending the perfectly executed work.
Mr. Abdi Ali Adan in charge of the event’s security matters, assured participants of adequate security measures, stating that security officers would be deployed throughout the event to maintain law and order.
The three-day event is expected to draw a large number of exhibitors and attendees, offering a unique platform for interaction, benchmarking, and learning.
This year’s theme is “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture for Food Security and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.”
