Former KDF Officer Mr. Kitheka Ilandi, Known as “Chuck Norris,” Attends Madaraka Day Celebration Amidst Drama

Malalani, Kitui County – The serene atmosphere of the Madaraka Day celebrations at Malalani was disrupted when former KDF officer Mr. Kitheka Ilandi, popularly known as “Chuck Norris,” made an appearance in Wiper Party attire. Accompanied by area MCA Hon. Erastus Mbuno, their presence soon stirred up a commotion.

The event had been progressing peacefully, with area MP Nimrod Mbai and other local leaders seated on the dais. Ilandi, making his way to the dais, greeted MP Mbai and continued to greet other uniformed chiefs and local leaders. The locals, who have affectionately nicknamed Ilandi “Chuck Norris” and “Captain,” watched as the drama unfolded.

An angry local, captured on live camera, confronted Ilandi. In a swift reaction, Ilandi retaliated, leading to a chaotic scene as women ran for safety. The altercation has left the political landscape of Kitui East in anticipation, with many looking forward to a potential showdown between Ilandi and MP Nimrod Mbai in the 2027 elections.

The goons who attempted to disrupt the event appeared well-fed on local delicacies such as “mwee” and “musenze” drinks, with some speculating they might be imported thugs. Despite the scuffle, Ilandi’s composed and formidable demeanor was evident, earning him further admiration from the locals.

Social media has been abuzz with reactions to the viral video footage of the incident. Some commenters suggested that the goon who confronted Ilandi needs better nourishment and training to become a more formidable opponent in the future.

Ilandi, a former close ally and fixer for MP Nimrod Mbai, has since parted ways with him and is now seen as a bitter rival. As the former Kitui East CDF Chairman, Ilandi’s political ambitions are clear, setting the stage for an intense political battle ahead.

The Madaraka Day celebration, although marred by this altercation, has highlighted the simmering tensions and political dynamics in Kitui East, with many eager to see how these rivalries will play out leading up to the 2027 elections.
