Former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has thrown her support behind Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, urging her to contest for the presidency in the 2027 general election. Speaking during a recent public event, Ngilu lauded Waiguru’s leadership skills and development achievements, stating that she is well-qualified to lead the nation.

Ngilu highlighted Waiguru’s extensive experience in governance, including her tenure as the Cabinet Secretary for Devolution and Planning and her current role as the chairperson of the Council of Governors. She emphasized that Waiguru’s track record in fostering development and her ability to navigate complex political landscapes make her a strong candidate for the presidency.

“Governor Anne Waiguru has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout her career. She has the experience, the vision, and the determination to steer this country in the right direction. I believe she is more than qualified to run for the highest office in the land,” Ngilu stated.

Waiguru, who has yet to publicly declare her intentions for the 2027 presidential race, has steadily risen in political prominence, with many considering her a potential candidate. Ngilu’s endorsement adds to the growing speculation about Waiguru’s future political ambitions.
