Former Kitui Governor Hon. Charity Ngilu has praised Generation Z for their unwavering commitment to holding the government accountable. In a post on the KPC wall, a popular online forum in Kitui frequented by influential community members, Ngilu expressed her admiration for the youth’s determination.
“In my entire political life, I’ve never witnessed such a relentless resolve by young people. We’ve ourselves said ‘punda imechoka,’ which seemed like an empty phrase. It’s now being shown live-live. And obviously, there is no turning back. I can only encourage the Gen Z and commend their determination and push for their rights,” Ngilu wrote.
Ngilu further echoed the sentiments of the late President Mwai Kibaki, reminding the community of his words: “Kenya has enough for all of us but not enough for some people’s greed.”
Her statement highlights a growing recognition of the active role that young Kenyans are playing in political and social discourse, signaling a potential shift in the country’s civic landscape.
