In a bold statement, former Yatta Kwa Vonza Member of County Assembly (MCA) Hon. John Kisangau, popularly known as Mbaki Mbaki, has declared that the Kamba community stands firmly behind President William Ruto. Speaking at a community gathering in Kitui County, Kisangau voiced his strong support for Ruto’s administration, dismissing Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s role in the opposition.
“We, as the Kamba nation, are fully behind President William Ruto,” said Kisangau. “Kalonzo Musyoka can remain in the opposition alone if he chooses.”
Kisangau’s remarks have stirred political conversations across the region, as Kalonzo Musyoka has long been considered the primary political leader and representative of the Kamba people. Kisangau, however, contends that the community’s interests would be better served by aligning with the government to leverage development opportunities and address pressing local needs.
The former MCA’s comments come amid a political landscape that has seen President Ruto’s administration extend outreach efforts to regions traditionally aligned with opposition figures. Observers are watching closely to see if this endorsement by Kisangau signals a shift in Kamba region loyalty or whether Kalonzo’s support base will remain steadfast despite his opposition stance.
Kisangau has been a vocal figure within the Kitui County political scene, and his endorsement of Ruto is seen as a significant statement. As Kenya’s political dynamics continue to evolve, the nation will watch to see how this allegiance plays out within the Kamba community and the broader national stage.
