Former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana Returns to Academia at Daystar University

Former Makueni Governor, Professor Kivutha Kibwana, has announced his return to academia after a long hiatus from teaching.

In an official statement, Professor Kibwana revealed that he is joining Daystar University’s Law School as a professor, marking a new chapter in his distinguished career.

“I thank God for the opportunity to return to academia after a hiatus, now serving at the Daystar University Law School as Professor, after a previous 25-year tenure at UoN. Another new beginning,” Kibwana said in his statement.Kibwana, who previously served as a professor at the University of Nairobi for 25 years, will also be involved in the Master of Laws (LLM) program, which is set to begin in January 2025.Reflecting on his passion for working with the youth, Kibwana expressed his eagerness to engage with students once again. “Where the youth are, I pray I always be there,” he added.Kibwana’s return to academia follows a highly successful political career, during which he served two terms as Governor of Makueni County. Known for his strong advocacy for devolution and development, Kibwana’s transition back to education is seen as a natural progression for the veteran leader.Many have lauded his decision, highlighting his vast experience in law, governance, and public policy, which will undoubtedly enrich the academic community at Daystar University.///__
