On August 16th 2024 marked a historic event for Machakos County and Kenya as a whole, as the G7 Women Empowerment Program held its second activation at the Machakos Kenyatta Stadium. The event saw the convergence of six trailblazing women governors: H.E. Wavinya Ndeti (Machakos), Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga), Fatuma Achani (Kwale), Cecily Mbarire (Embu), Susan Kihika (Nakuru), and Gladys Wanga (Homabay), all united under a common cause.
Machakos Speaker Hon. Anne Kiusya was among the dignitaries in attendance, standing alongside the governors as they championed the empowerment of women in leadership roles.
