Governor Malombe Advocates for Penina Malonza’s Cabinet Reappointment

Kitui Governor Julius Malombe has publicly expressed his support for the reappointment of former Cabinet Secretary Penina Malonza to the national cabinet. Speaking at the Kitui Agricultural Trade Fair Show 2024, held at the ITHOOKWE show ground, Governor Malombe highlighted Malonza’s significant contribution to the Kenya Kwanza government’s electoral success, citing her delivery of over 78,000 votes.

Governor Malombe shared that he had personally communicated with President William Ruto, congratulating him on the initial appointment of his former deputy to the cabinet. He urged the President to consider reappointing Malonza, emphasizing her competence and dedication.

In his address, Malombe also called on political leaders to remain accountable to their constituents and to avoid making contradictory statements. He urged the residents of Kitui to continue supporting Kalonzo Musyoka, leader of the Wiper Democratic Movement, and warned against political figures attempting to pressure Musyoka into aligning with the Kenya Kwanza government. Malombe confidently asserted that Musyoka is the “President in waiting” for the 2027 elections.

Governor Malombe’s statements reflect ongoing political dynamics in the region, highlighting both local support for key political figures and the broader national political landscape as leaders position themselves ahead of future elections.
