In a heartfelt gesture of compassion and hope, Kitui County government administration on behalf of Governor Dr Julius Makau Malombe visited Kitui Women’s Prison this evening, delivering essential supplies and an encouraging message to the inmates on behalf of Governor Dr Julius Malombe.
Representing the Governor during the visit were Gladys Kivoto, Chief Officer (CO) for Agriculture, and John Makau, Finance CO. Speaking on behalf of Governor Malombe, Madam Kivoto emphasized the importance of resilience and the opportunity for a fresh start.
“Your current situation is not the end of the road. Every day is an opportunity to begin again, to grow, and to prepare for a better future,” said Kivoto, delivering the Governor’s inspiring message.
The donation included foodstuffs and hygiene products, which were warmly received by the inmates. The gesture, shared in the spirit of the Christmas season, brought a sense of joy and togetherness to the women, reinforcing the message of compassion and community care.
Finance CO John Makau highlighted the County Government’s commitment to supporting marginalized groups and fostering rehabilitation efforts.
“As a county, we are committed to ensuring that every individual feels valued, regardless of their circumstances. Today’s visit is a reflection of our belief in the power of hope and humanity,” said Makau.
