Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe today inaugurated a leadership and integrity workshop at Mutomo, Kitui South, aimed at enhancing ethical practices among county staff. The workshop was facilitated by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
In his opening remarks, Governor Malombe emphasized the importance of ethical training in promoting good governance and accountability. He noted that the workshop would provide critical lessons on embedding ethical practices in the workplace, fostering a culture of integrity, and rejecting corruption in all its forms.
“This training is pivotal in guiding public officers to adhere strictly to the law while delivering services to citizens through prudent management of resources,” said Governor Malombe.
EACC Lower Eastern Regional Manager Japheth Baithalu highlighted the importance of collaboration in combating corruption and unethical conduct. He reiterated that workshops like these are part of the EACC’s nationwide efforts to enhance the capacity of state officers to uphold the principles enshrined in Chapter IV of the Constitution.
Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani and other county officials also attended the event, underscoring the county leadership’s commitment to instilling integrity in public service.
The EACC has been actively organizing similar training sessions across the country, aiming to strengthen public officers’ commitment to ethical governance and accountability.
