Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Makau Malombe has issued a stern warning to those attempting to destabilize his government, emphasizing his strong mandate from the people of Kitui County.
Speaking during a performance contracting exercise held at Ithookwe Showground, the Governor reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on his development agenda and urged leaders to avoid divisive politics.
“I will not allow anyone to destabilize the government I lead. I have a huge mandate from the people of Kitui, and anyone trying to take us down that path will meet firm resistance,” Governor Malombe said.
The Governor also appealed to Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) to prioritize the interests of the people over personal agendas, warning against being misled by individuals driven by selfish motives.
“To the MCAs, let us focus on service delivery. Do not be swayed by those with personal interests. If you bring political mischief, we shall deal with it in all manners,” he cautioned.
Governor Malombe praised the County Assembly for its commendable work, noting significant achievements in legislation and oversight, though he acknowledged a few instances of contradictions and challenges.
The performance contracting event, which brought together county government employees and a section of MCAs, aimed to evaluate the county’s progress in achieving set goals and enhancing public service delivery.
Governor Malombe’s remarks come amid heightened political activity and internal wrangles within Kitui County leadership, signaling his resolve to maintain stability and unity in the county government.The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to addressing key development priorities for the benefit of the people of Kitui County.
