A tragic accident occurred at around 3:00 PM at Ikanga Market along the busy Kitui-Kibwezi Road, involving a brand-new car that lost control. The car collided with a motorbike carrying a mother and her two children, as well as a female pedestrian.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that three of the injured victims succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at the Kitui County Referral Hospital.
The incident has sparked an outcry from Ikanga residents, who are urging the government to install additional speed bumps at Ikanga Market to enhance road safety and prevent further accidents on this bustling highway.
