Yatta kwa vonza Member of Kitui County Assembly, Hon. Mark Ndingo, has urged the Kenyan government to reduce its spending to stabilize the country’s economy.
Speaking on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation Television Network (KBC TV) morning talk show, the county legislator emphasized the need for President William Ruto to streamline his government and avoid a bloated cabinet.
Hon. Ndingo highlighted the importance of improving revenue collection at the national level and advocated for a leaner government to prevent resource wastage. He criticized the current practice of purchasing new furniture, cars, and establishing new offices, suggesting that such expenditures should be minimized to cut down on government spending.
The discussion was part of a morning talk show moderated by M. Migwi, where leaders discuss politics and public affairs. The panel also included Political Analyst Bishop Dr. Geoffry Njuguna, an expert in leadership and governance. The conversation covered the current political situation in Kenya and the ongoing protests against the Finance Bill 2024.
Hon. Ndingo expressed optimism about the future, noting that the issues raised by Generation Z could bring positive changes to Kenya’s political landscape. He commended Gen Z for initiating critical conversations and called for a mindset change among voters when electing leaders.
