Yatta Kwavonza, June 28, 2024— In a step toward community development, Hon. Mark Nding’o, MCA for Yatta Kwavonza Ward, held a consultative and liaison meeting with contractors from the FEMINIST REPUBLIK HEALING FARM, a rehabilitation and healing center for gender-based violence victims in Africa.
The meeting took place at Kyainya market and involved representatives from Urgent Action Fund – Africa, Milcons Limited, and local residents.
The primary focus of the meeting was the much-anticipated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project to drill a borehole at Kyainya Primary School.This initiative was previously requested by Hon. Nding’o to address the pressing water needs of the local community.
“We are committed to improving the living conditions of our people,” said Hon. Nding’o. “This borehole will provide much-needed water to Kyainya Primary School and the surrounding community, significantly enhancing their quality of life.”The FEMINIST REPUBLIK HEALING FARM, spearheaded by Urgent Action Fund – Africa, aims to offer a safe haven and rehabilitation services for gender-based violence victims across Africa.
The organization’s collaboration with Milcons Limited and local stakeholders highlights a strong commitment to holistic community support and sustainable development.Local residents expressed their gratitude for the initiative, anticipating the positive impact the borehole will have on their daily lives.
Construction of the borehole is set to commence soon, with all parties dedicated to ensuring timely completion.
