October 15, 2024 – In a major development for the residents of Kyaango Sub-Location, Voo/Kyamatu MCA Hon. Zak Syengo has successfully launched a long-anticipated water distribution project, marking a significant milestone for the community. The project, which commenced today, will supply clean and reliable water to the entire sub-location, benefiting local schools, hospitals, and households.
The water distribution system is part of the Ngulini Water Project and is being funded through a collaboration between GAA (WHH) and the County Government of Kitui. The project, set in Kithanake, Kyaango County Village, will address water scarcity in the region. Schools such as St. Cajetan and Kyaango Secondary School, as well as health facilities, will be among the key beneficiaries.
In addition to the water supply, the project plans to introduce agribusiness initiatives in the future, aimed at improving food security and boosting the local economy. This development reflects Hon. Zak Syengo’s commitment to empowering his constituency.
To ensure the community’s involvement in the project, 30% of the labor and local materials will be provided by local residents. Hon. Syengo has also facilitated transportation for the required materials, fully covering the costs to ease the burden on the community.
Residents of Kyaango have lauded Hon. Syengo for his dedication and efforts to bring sustainable development to the area. The MCA’s leadership continues to inspire hope for a better tomorrow.
