On wednesday, June 19, 2024 -In a decisive move during the morning plenary sitting, the House unanimously approved the report by the Committee on Basic Education, Training, and Skills Development on the inspection of vocational training centres (VTCs) in Kitui County. The report, a comprehensive assessment of the state of VTCs, was presented by the Committee Chairperson, Hon. Mark Ndingó (Yatta/Kwa Vonza), and was seconded by Hon. Alphonse Mukwayu (Kyome/Thaana).
The report’s approval marks a significant step in enhancing the quality and accessibility of vocational training in the county, aiming to equip residents with essential skills for the job market.
In the same session, Hon. Zacchaeus Syengo (Voo/Kyamatu), Chairperson of the County Budget and Appropriations Committee, tabled the report on the consideration of the Kitui County budget estimates for the fiscal year 2024/2025. This critical report, which outlines the financial plan for the upcoming year, is set for debate this afternoon.
