In an administrative shift, Job Muisyo, the esteemed Municipal Manager of Kitui, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Transport. His position will be filled by his deputy, Ms. Irene, who is set to continue the legacy of efficient service delivery within the municipality.
Mr. Muisyo’s tenure as Municipal Manager was marked by his pivotal role in formulating and implementing an integrated development plan, crucial for coordinating various developmental initiatives across Kitui. His work in controlling land use and overseeing infrastructural development required close collaboration with relevant agencies and stakeholders, ensuring that the city’s growth was both strategic and sustainable.
In addition to these responsibilities, Muisyo managed schemes for site development, maintained a comprehensive information system for administrative purposes, and oversaw the municipality’s internal affairs. His duties extended to implementing relevant county and national legislation, entering into contracts or partnerships to facilitate municipal functions, and monitoring services provided by the board or other service providers.
One of Muisyo’s notable achievements was his meticulous preparation of the municipality’s budget, effective collection of rates and taxes, and constant monitoring of the effectiveness of services and policies, which significantly contributed to the city’s overall development and efficient functioning.
Speaking exclusively to TCD Digital, Muisyo expressed his readiness to embrace his new role at the Ministry of Transport. “The reasons for my deployment have been made clear to me, and I am committed to serving diligently in my next role,” he stated.
As Ms. Irene takes the helm as Kitui’s new Municipal Manager, the city anticipates continued progress and effective management under her leadership.
