August 11, 2024 – Kauwi Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Gabriel Munyao has urged Chief Officers working with the County Government of Kitui to remain vigilant against intimidation and extortion by certain leaders who allege, and threaten to write defamatory stories about them.
Speaking at Kauwi AIC, MCA Munyao expressed concerns about what he termed as a “scheme to profile county staff from certain regions on acting capacities while neglecting others,” describing the situation as a form of witch hunt. He emphasized his commitment to defending his people against such acts of intimidation and extortion.
Munyao further alleged that some Chief Officers are engaged in proxy wars, fighting both the government they serve and each other. He warned that he would soon expose those involved in such activities.
“I will continue to stand firm and defend my people against any form of intimidation and extortion,” said the MCA. He also referenced Proverbs 3:9, urging believers to use their hard-earned income to do the work of the Lord: “Serve the Lord with your substance.”
The MCA’s remarks have sparked discussions within the Kitui County government, with many calling for unity and transparency in serving the residents.
