The Kitui Agricultural Show has made a significant comeback this year, thanks to the leadership and vision of Governor Malombe. His efforts to revive this important event have not gone unnoticed, as it brings a wealth of economic benefits to the Kitui region.
During Governor Malombe’s first term, he initiated the Kitui Show, providing a platform for local businesses and farmers to showcase their products and innovations. However, the event was not held during Governor Ngilu’s tenure. Now, with Malombe re-elected, the show has returned, much to the delight of residents and businesses alike.
The economic impact of the show is evident across Kitui. Hotels, lodgings, boda-boda operators, taxi services, small businesses like “mama mbogas,” and bars have all experienced a boost in income. This highlights the importance of electing leaders who prioritize economic growth and development over mere political gains.
In addition to Governor Malombe, the show also attracted key leaders who stand in solidarity with his initiatives. Notable attendees included the incoming Governor and Kitui Central MP, Hon. Makali Mulu, as well as the Speaker of the County Assembly, Hon. Kinengo. Their presence underscores the importance of continuity in economic programs for the future prosperity of Kitui.
Governor Malombe, his deputy, ministers, and county officers deserve commendation for their efforts in bringing the Kitui Agricultural Show back to life. Their dedication to the region’s economic progress speaks volumes about the promising future of Kitui.
