The County Executive Committee Member(CECM) for Agriculture and Livestock Dr.Stephen Mbaya was crowned the National Donkey Champion during today’s National Donkey celebrations in Kabati Kitui West Sub County.
The honor, bestowed by Caritas and Brook East Africa, recognized Dr. Mbaya’s efforts in the fight against donkey slaughtering.
Dr. Mbaya has been at the forefront in the fight against illegal bush donkey slaughter, a practice that has escalated over the days due to the high demand for donkey hides in the global market. His advocacy has led to increased awareness and enforcement of regulations aimed at safeguarding the essential animal.
