Ithookwe, Kitui Central – Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu, Member of Parliament for Kitui Central Constituency, took center stage as the guest of honor at the Day of the African Child celebration, held at Ithookwe Primary School.With the theme “Education for all children in Africa: the time is now”, Dr. Mulu underscored the transformative power of education in combating poverty.
He passionately called for enhanced access to education for every child, urging the government to prioritize this by employing more teachers and instituting promotions based on experience and service.
Highlighting his dedication to this cause, Dr. Mulu detailed his ongoing efforts to construct new schools within the constituency.In his address, the MP outlined a series of initiatives aimed at bolstering educational support for learners.
These include the construction of additional classrooms, provision of essential learning resources, and the distribution of bursaries through the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
These measures are designed to foster a more conducive learning environment and ensure that financial barriers do not hinder access to education. The event was attended by kitui Governor Dr Julius Makau Malombe EGH, his Deputy Govenor Kanani together with officials from his Government.
The event was graced by Kitui County Governor, Hon. Dr. Julius Makau Maombe, along with other distinguished guests. Following the launch, Dr. Mulu participated in a Harambee fundraiser at El-Bethel Victory Church, also located in Ithookwe.
This celebration marks a pivotal step toward achieving universal education in Kitui Central and underscores the steadfast commitment of local leaders to enhancing educational opportunities for all children in the region.//__
