Kitui, July 27, 2027— The Kitui County Agricultural Show and Trade Fair, one of the most attended in its six-year history, concluded today with a strong call to action from Deputy Governor Wambua Kanani. Speaking at the closing ceremony, HE Kanani urged farmers and citizens of Kitui to apply the climate-smart technologies showcased during the event.
“I want to reiterate what our Governor has themed our 6th edition: we need to prioritize climate resilience in agricultural practices in the county as we face the infamous planetary climatic crisis,” said Kanani. His remarks emphasized the importance of adopting sustainable practices to combat climate change’s effects on agriculture.
Under the leadership of Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, EGH, Kitui County is committed to supporting farmers through comprehensive extension services across all value chains. This initiative aims to ensure food security and promote financial empowerment among the county’s agricultural community.
The three-day event provided a platform for exhibitors and businesspeople to experience a surge in sales, exchange innovative ideas, and explore future business opportunities. Participants from various sectors praised the event for fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
