Kitui County Finance Ministry Debunks Revenue Account Rumors, Reports 51% Growth at 2024 Trade Fair

By YOANA KIMWELE.

The Ministry of Finance, Economy Planning and Revenue Management has refuted rumors regarding the use of multiple bank accounts for revenue collections in Kitui County. During the 2024 Agricultural Trade Fair, Minister Peter Mwikya Kilonzo confirmed that all revenue was managed through a single, official account, promoting transparency and accountability.

Minister Kilonzo reported a 51% increase in revenue collections compared to the previous year’s event. All transactions by exhibitors were processed through the official account at Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).

The Finance Minister dismissed claims of multiple accounts as misinformation and emphasized that all transactions were handled through the recognized Automated System and banked in the official Revenue Account.

Residents are encouraged to disregard these rumors and verify information through official channels. Kitui County remains committed to financial prudence and transparent leadership under HE Dr. Julius Makau Malombe EGH.
