Kitui Town hosted a two-day workshop organized by the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning & Revenue Management to conclude the development of the County’s Revenue Enhancement Strategy. The initiative follows a capacity-building training conducted in May, where Kitui County revenue officers were trained in partnership with the Institute of Public Finance (IPF).
In his opening remarks, Finance CECM Peter Kilonzo expressed the county administration’s commitment to implementing pragmatic strategies aimed at increasing own-source revenue, which will bolster service delivery to residents. He also praised the IPF for its continuous support in helping the county achieve its revenue goals.
Finance Chief Officer John Makau, acting director Madam Roselyne Kavata alongside other ministry representatives, attended the workshop, which has drawn participation from all county ministries. The strategy is expected to enhance the county’s revenue collection and support the ongoing development initiatives.
The final document is set to guide Kitui County in improving its financial management and service delivery.
