Kitui County Ministry of Health and Sanitation Launches Medical Outreach Program with FAME

The Kitui County Ministry of Health and Sanitation through CECM Ruth Koki under the leadership of Governor Dr Julius Makau Malombe EGH, in collaboration with the Friends of Africa Missionary Endeavour (FAME), kicked off a dynamic two-day medical outreach program today in Kaayo village, Kitui East Sub-County.

The launch event saw key health officials, including CECM for Health and Sanitation Ruth Koki and Chief Officer for Public Health Lynn Kitwan, emphasizing the importance of accessible healthcare. Both highlighted the transformative impact such collaborations can have on local communities.

“This outreach program is a testament to our commitment to improving healthcare services for all residents of Kitui County. By partnering with organizations like FAME, we can ensure that even the most remote areas receive the medical attention they deserve,” stated CECM Koki.

C.O. Kitwan echoed these sentiments, noting, “Preventive healthcare and early diagnosis are crucial in managing public health. This program will not only provide immediate medical assistance but also educate the community on various health issues and preventive measures.”
Stephen N. Kameti, UK Mission Board Rep/ Field Leader at FAME, highlighted the collaborative spirit of the initiative, noting, “FAME is honoured to partner with the Kitui County Ministry of Health and Sanitation.

Our shared goal is to bring comprehensive healthcare services to the people of Kitui. Through such partnerships, we can significantly impact the health and well-being of the communities we serve.”
In her closing remarks, CECM Koki reiterated Governor Malombe’s commitment to providing quality health services. “Our administration is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of our communities.

This outreach program is part of our broader strategy to ensure that all residents have access to high-quality healthcare services,” she concluded.
The outreach program will offer a range of services, including general consultations, eye examinations, maternal and child health services, and health education sessions, among other essential services.

A dedicated team of healthcare workers from the county, including Clinical Officers, nurses, and other medical staff, will be onsite to deliver these services.
