Ikanga/Kyatune Ward, 7th September 2024 – In a heartfelt visit to mourn with the family of the late Florence Mwenda Ngului, Kitui County Deputy Governor, His Excellency Wambua Kanani, delivered a message of hope and solidarity to the residents of Ikanga/Kyatune Ward. The 62-year-old Mwenda, a mother of five, was remembered as a role model of resilience and hard work in her community.
While conveying Governor Dr. Julius Malombe’s message of condolence, HE Kanani reassured the people that the County Government remains committed to enhancing the quality of life for its citizens through various ongoing development projects.
“We are deeply committed to transforming lives. Among the numerous projects, we have successfully implemented the SYOMISYI-MESILYA-ENZOU-KISAYANI water project, a first-of-its-kind hybrid sumbwell, in partnership with CMMB. Additionally, we have built the Kisayani maternity and several crosscutting sector projects aimed at improving healthcare, infrastructure, and livelihood opportunities for our people,” said HE Kanani.
He urged the community to continue supporting Governor Malombe’s vision for the county and to remain hopeful for the future. “Let us stand with our Governor as he works tirelessly to realize his manifesto and keep the hope of a brighter future alive,” he added.
The late Florence Mwenda Ngului, whose life exemplified strength and dedication, was fondly remembered by the community, who celebrated her immense contribution to the village.
The Deputy Governor’s visit provided both comfort and a reminder of the County Government’s unwavering focus on improving the lives of Kitui residents through sustainable development initiatives.
